You are the light that brings me out of my darkness
This piece is done in response to the Angelico Art Award 2016's theme: Who do you say I am?
This painting is a glimpse of my relationship with Jesus. He is the light that shines into my darkness, helping me to understand and overcome it. I often look back and behave as if I am the master of my life. The truth is that I can move forward only because this movement is powered by His light. I know that even when I turn away, He will lead me to a paradise where the light does not die. Through this work, I re-create the intangible experience of my prayer life into an image that viewers can share in.
Inspirations for this work include poetry, my memories, landscapes and architecture from my pilgrimages to the Camino de Santiago and Avila as well as modern technology that are apt for conveying my ideas.
